There are green breweries and then there are green breweries, but there no arguing it -- these guys are the real deal. In 2002, New Belgium installed its own eco-friendly water treatment facility and biogas power plant. About 15% of their power usage is supplied by their own wastewater and the rest comes from wind farms. The business boast a 98% landfill diversion rate, recycling what it can and being creative with the rest. They're water conservation practices are also exemplary -- New Belgium uses about half the water of a traditional brewery.
This year, these brewmeisters took their message to the streets, promoting beer, bikes and sustainable living.
