Tom Cruise spends $1 mil a year...on fuel
Remember all those times you drove an extra five miles on empty, just so you could avoid paying $3 a gallon for a little bit longer? Rising gas prices suck, and I'm fairly confident everyone hates dropping hundreds of bucks a month just to drive their cars.Well, everyone except Tom Cruise. Your favorite Scientologist is worth an absurd amount of money (some say up to $250 million). That, in itself, isn't all that surprising. However I was shocked to learn that every year he spends $1 million of that fortune -- on fuel.
The movie mogul owns a whopping four private planes, plus who knows how many cars, trucks, and whatever else. Heck, by the sounds of it, he probably drinks gas as part of some weird, sci-fi ritual in worship of aliens and outer space.

Since this is the green page. Most likely all of you are a bunch of no brain anti-achievement liberals. I am not a big fan of the crazy Tommy boy, but we live in a country where the choice you make determine where you are in life. Oh also the greatest freedom. Try buying property in South America good luck. MR TC found a way the make a lot of money which in turn stimualtes the economy for all when spends. You see you liberal no brainers, when he buys a jet that keeps the so called middle class guy and girl at the jet plant employeed. He redecorates his house that keeps the the furniture painters construcition workers employeed. Take your cry baby loser mentality and go live in France where unemplyeement is 10%. Oh by the way you may want to check the Sun's tempature out put. Global warming, what a joke.

mike brown: global warming isn't caused by the sun. It's caused by cows farting and people driving cars. The gases produced by these processes create a green house affect (effect, whatever). This heats the earth up a little bit. By the way, the sun is burning at around 11,000 degrees F.
seven: If you are ever in Washington (state), then you are in the home of Ramtha. He is a 17th(?) century warrior who teaches you a bunch of Bull... J. Z. Knight, the only person who can talk to him, is LOADED because of him. She says she channels him, I say she can do different voices and make weird faces. She has her complex for "Ramtha". So, she did what the scientologist guy did.

I never liked this bozo anyhow. Seems the Scientology is REALLY making him richer! I think it's a subliminal thing: "PAY MEEEEE"
"LET ME $PEND YOUR HARD EARNED DOUGH"
" WHY AM I WORTH THIS MUCH???" I wish Mrs. Cruise would wake the jerk up & politely ask him to go a LITTLE bit green. She supposedly gave him a daughter (unless that new unauthorized bio's claim that she did'nt).
Stay tuned, folks!

I bet there are OTHER celebrities out there who own just as many "extras" and spend just as much in fuel. To attack Tom Cruise is one thing as someone who apparently has very little regard for his natural resource consumption. To drag his religion into it is low though. Just because you don't understand anything about it, short of what you've heard on the news, doesn't mean that it has anything to do with how irresponsible Cruise may or may not be. It's completely unfair. Should I say that you're a sniveling ass because of whatever you might believe in?

The comments about scientology apply to every televangelist and religion in the world. I don't think scientology is any less of a religion than any other just because it is a minority view. It's funny how we can't see the forest for the trees.

Whaddya mean religion? He's a scsientologist, the criminal cult people - there's nothing even faintly religious about that bunch of bozos, from the their crazy sci-fi founder who made the whole thing up to their heavies who "protect"the cult leaders.
I prefer the mafia myself.

How much fuel does Al Gore use??? And how much of his travel is paid for by vested interests (i.e., people with the agenda of making their own bucks on Global Warming-real or not)?
I assume TC is paying for his fuel with money he earned making movies his fans paid to see. They can't ALL have been Scientologists. The snide comments on his religion are not necessary. Oh, my bad, I made a comment about Al's religion, didn't I?

so what, at least he isn't one of those celebrity "live green" preachers...who preach how "green" they are by driving the token hybrid, when they own hummers, large suv's AND ONLY fly private jets...there was a picture of julia roberts and her large mercedes SUV parked at her private jet last week. yeah, she's living SO green...they have the means to afford whatever they want, that's fine, but don't preach the "greeness", because it's politically correct. ugh. sooo tired of hollywood "do as i say NOT as i do"...

On balance, no matter what one thinks about the person, in this case, Tom Cruise, it is hardly anyone's business what he does with his money. John Travolta has private jets and so on and he is also a Scientologist. Where is the rant regarding Travolta?
Christians are crazier then Scientologists. Look at their insanity with purple teletubbies, pornography, pedophilia, homosexuality in the halls of Congress and in the bathrooms by Christian Ministers. Talk about that why don't you?
This B.S. about fuel is simply more brainless media manipulation of the public stirring up hate and toxic posts just to get their rocks off. There is no value whatsoever in any of this garbage and the juvenile mentalities who do write this crap should be fired for sheer stupidity.

None of these "green" vehicles are truly "green". Think about it. It take 4 times as much energy to produce a gallon of hydrogen than that gallon of hydrogen produces! That's not green no matter how you look at it. It would take every tillable acre of land in the U.S to produce the amount of ethanol that we would need if every gallon of gasoline was half ethanol (where are we going to get our food? Mexico?). Where are you going to put the 6,800 lithium/ion batteries that the Tesla electric car runs on when they die? (in the landfill of course). Plug in vehicles? Forget it. If we all plugged in our electric cars for 8 hours every night every coal fired power plant in the U.S. would be working at twice the capacity they are running now (spewing twice as much pollutants into the atmosphere than ever). Until some radical form of propulsion is utilized, only more efficient internal combustion is the true answer

Bingo. You hit the nail on the head. You are the ONLY person that I've ever heard say this. We could all go hydrogen and get 500000000 miles to the ounce, but who is going to sell their car and buy a brand new one just so they can save money on gas. We all know the cars are going to be really expensive and not sporty or nimble. No one is going to until we have to. It's that simple and no one gets it. It's ironic. When we spend 50 grand on a hydrogen car, the market will be further developed and they will get better and better. More hydrogen stations will start popping up. But if no one buys them, the market doesn't improve, station numbers stay the same, cars stay unrefined. Until everyone gets on the bandwagon, we will have to stick to E85, BioDiesel, and little, fuel effecient cars. I will kill myself the day the mustang, corvette, charger goes hydrogen because Geo Metro's will be sportier.

working class people are constantly being told to get rid of their SUV'S to stop pollution. The rich and famous travel all over the world [constantly] in their private jet's and plane's without any regard for the environment. Sound's like a double standard to me.

No religion makes a man rich. It's hard work, and if you don't believe it, stop working and see what you have.
