In May,
Vanity Fair had Leo on the front cover of its green issue, as the co-star of a photo-collage with Knut the polar bear (disclaimer: this polar bear is not an actual inhabitant of the ice pictured). Although some of the coverage in this issue was a bit too elite-enviro for my tastes (I don't really need to hear about Robert Kennedy, Jr's affection for falconeering), there were also some excellent articles, like James Wolcott's look at Rush Limbaugh's anti-global-warming rhetoric, and William Langewiesche's story about the suit being brought by a young Ecuadorian lawyer against Chevron, whose drilling destroyed a sizable swath of the Amazon in that country. All in all, an issue full of substance, with sexy pictures sandwiched in between. Read some of these articles
