EnviroClean is an Australian product... not sure if there's overseas suppliers, but it is worth looking out for! Works like a charm.

Mind you, I steer clear of the dishwasher in all but the most hectic situations... water wastage is a huge issue here in AU.

I've used the Seventh Generation powder form--it only seems to work with a good pre-scrubbing/pre-washing before loading the dish-washer, which seems to defeat the purpose... Since, we've just gone back to using Cascade as well.

Ecover is a great product. We use the powder version in our dishwasher, but they make a gel, too. I think this is also an Australian product, but you can find it at health food stores and other places. It's definitely better than SeventhGeneration from my own personal comparison.

I filled something out on the EcoVer site and they just sent me some coupons, too. Good stuff - my wife and I love it.

P.S. If you have a good dishwasher, you use a lot less water for a full load than if you'd wash those dishes by hand...

The Seventh Generation gel didn't work for us, either and neither did the Method tablets. I was trying to resign myself to just having dingy mugs and then I found the Ecover tablets. These work really well. You still need to do a bit more pre-scrubbing for really bad pots and pans, but overall, this brand works very well and I'm quite happy with it. You can buy cases really cheaply through Amazon.

Seventh Generation didn't work for me either. If you live near a Trader Joe's, try their brand liquid Auto Dish Soap, its worked better for me, and the price is good.
