I came across this post and was alarmed to see that you refer to palm oil as 'eco-friendly'. Nothing could be further from the truth!!!!

90% of palm oil comes from Indonesia and Malaysia, where huge palm oil conglomerates are destroying virgin rainforest in order to create and expand their oil palm plantations. According to statistics, approximately six football fields of rainforest are destroyed EVERY MINUTE. This destruction is releasing a tremendous amount of carbon into the air and pushing entire species to the brink of extinction.

One of the victims of the increased demand for palm oil is the innocent orangutan. As their rainforest home is destroyed, orangutans have nowhere to go and often end up on the oil palm plantations, starving and desperate to feed themselves and their babies. When caught, adult orangutans are brutally beaten, shot, burned and hacked to death by machete. Babies are literally ripped off their dead or dying mothers and sold as illegal pets.

Palm oil is the most evil substance on earth! Please don't recommend it to your readers. It is not 'green'. It is the opposite of all the other good things you have on your website... Please help us raise awareness of this horrible substance before orangutans are extinct!
