5 ways to use skunked beer
It sucks when you pull the last beer out of the fridge and crack it open, only to realize it's skunked. Gross. Disappointing. In a small way, tragic. But while you might be tempted to toss that stinky can of brew into the trash, there's plenty of ways you can still get a little use out of that beer -- even if it's not drinking it, like you'd intended.
- Helps grass grow: pour beer on brown spots in your lawn and let the grass absorb the nutrients
- Kill slugs and snails: make traps by burying containers half-filled with beer in your garden. The beer attracts the critters, then drowns them.
- Catch mice: put some beer in the bottom of a pail, and create an easy way for the mice to walk up to the rim. They'll be attracted to the beer, but once in, won't be able to get back out.
- Polish gold
- Bathe with it: the yeast is good for your skin, apparently.
