Bryan Adams has a beef with Kentucky Fried Chickens
If you're in the mood for some crispy domesticated fowl, Kentucky Fried Chicken might be your best bet. But if you're at all opposed to animal cruelty, you might want to give a second thought to chowing down at KFC. At least, that's according to Bryan Adams, who recently teamed up with PETA to pressure the fast food giant into changing their chicken-killing practices.
"C'mon Everybody," writes the singer in a letter to John Bitove, the CEO of KFC Canada, "If Ya Wanna Be Bad Ya Gotta be Good." Which he then follows with something I didn't make up based on Adams' cheesy song titles: "I'm writing in the hope that you would be open to ways you could improve the lives and deaths of the birds who end up in KFC Canada's buckets."
Apparently the birds are scalded to death in tanks of hot water, so Adams isn't entirely off base. After all, it's not like he's some hippy who's activism is All For Love, or only surfaces When You Love Someone.
Please Forgive Me for that last one, I know it was a little forced.

Let's see, maybe you'd like to be killed by steam. You do know that it scalds your lungs first!! By far, one of the worst ways to go.
I don't eat at KFC, I think the food is gross, but that is no way to kill any creature!

There is so much human tragedy in the world. People are killing each other over religion and disease threatens
the poor of the world. Famous people should lend their influence to saving human life. That chickens die and this clown doesn't like the method provides a sad commentary on what is news. Stop the war. Feed the poor. Defeat infant mortality. Stop the pollution of our environment for the wealth of the few. I don't know how low on the list that chicken slaughter is, but it has to be very low. By heating the chicken, it is easier to remove the feathers. Sounds more efficient than cruel. What would Phil Ochs say about this?

its far to short of time to elaborate much further, but the fact that one cannot see the connections between animals and human and their suffering shows the lack of knowledge one posses' on the topics of suffering.
i'm not a PETA fan, nor am I a Bryan Adams fan, but your remarks show utter ignorance and the general "surface only" knowledge that allows all of this to continue. If humans cannot care about something they deem so "insignificant" as an animal, why are you at all surprised that they will kill each other for profit and in voluntary wars of conquest?

PS - feed the poor... would that be with the grain they feed the factory farmed chickens- most who have their beaks cut off with hot knives so they cannot peck each other and ruin their precious flesh, or would that be with the grain that our government and absurd industry pay the farmers to destroy in surplus amounts?
expand your mind some, read a little- perhaps 'A Diet For A New America' or 'Ishmael', or 'the Story of B', or a multitude of other fascinating books that might enlighten your Monday Morning Quarterback stance on ethics and helping of the Human Condition.
Starving people will most likely not be helped or saved unless they are relocated to areas where they can realistically be successful. You can dump a ton of wheat into a desert, it doesnt make it any more liveable, it just makes itr take a little longer before they starve to death.

I was hoping that someone would have responded to the Phil Ochs comment. You see, he sang protest songs about important issues. Brian Adams is a Canadian singing protest songs about chickens. This is real humor. I have killed chickens in my day by hand. I have chopped their heads off and immediately dipped them in hot water to ease the removal of the feathers. That is how it is done. The real problem with KFC is the oils and fats that are killing all those that eat fast food. I'm a dog owner, so I understand the concept of treating animals in a humane way. I will now advocate for the human treatment of earthworms and cockroaches. You people take chickens much too seriously and have probably never even touched a live chicken. This is a very foul topic.

Yes the world is full of human suffering, but that does not give us the right to create an environment of constant suffering for animals. And yes animals feel pain and suffer just as much as people do. We as individuals should be doing everything in our power to reduce unneccessary suffering around us for all living creatures both people and animals. We may not be able to personally end the suffering of people but by speaking up for animals who cannot speak for themselves, or just making a personal choice to stop supporting companies that promote cruelty, we can make a huge difference to millions of animal lives. Doing this does not stop you from campaining against human injustices.

Sorry Shaun, but one CAN walk and chew gum at the same time. With that I mean one can oppose cruelty to animals AND also oppose cruelty to human beings. Sorry, but "heating" a chicken, (as you call) and scalding alive a living animal for the sake of "efficiency" is sadistic and just shows that the greed of humankind has no boundaries. With all of your talk about saving humans, I sure hope that you are one on those people who practices what they preach. Again, one can still care for humans and for animals. It is GREED, HATRED, SELFISHNESS, DISRESPECTFULNESS, CRUELTY, and CALLOUSNESS that are the problems with our world.

No...people should worry about seeing everything is treated humanely. Maybe we have let things go to far and that is why we see all the heinous crimes, man's inhumanity to man.....we need alot more compassion. If we do not start treating even the lowest creatures God gave us to use, not abuse, who knows? Maybe the tables will be turned on us, the supposedly "most intelligent" creature in the universe. Looks like it is heading that way.

Tell you what, why don't you dip yourself into scalding water next time you want a shave or a haircut, just to make it easier. According to the article, these chickens were not dead first. Just because we use poultry for food does not mean we treat them as if they were inanimate objects.

klI think you are completely wrong.....Humans can control their stupid ass ways...Animals are innocent and have no say in how they are going to be mutilated. I have no sympathy for humans at war at all. You shouldn't even compare animals to humans. I'm glad the celebrities are helping animals...because if they try to help fighting humans that can actually can control themselves is of no use because people will always fight...no matter how much money is given...at least there is a chance with animals who again are INNOCENT. You are a disgrace.
