Micro-wind turbines: all hot air
Contrary to popular belief, the micro-wind turbine is not cooling the planet. According to the UK's Building Research Establishment Trust, the increasingly fashionable home improvement add-on will never produce enough energy to offset the CO2 required to make and install it. And, unless they live in a wind-rich environment, a vast majority of micro-turbine owners won't even see a financial payback on their investment. So you might want to think solar if you're looking for a small scale systems that can give your home a boost. Micro-wind is apparently too micro to do much good -- not to put down the effort.
It's too bad really, I'd like an easy and affordable way to supplement my home's energy, but there are other ways. You could start by running your laptop on solar power.

you have to consider the wind turbine plus the emmissions that are not being produced by the coal plants. This article is generic, provides no real data (hard numbers), and arrives at a rediculous conclusion because of it. This is England and may not apply elsewhere. solar is much more expensive than wind to buy the equipment so again, where are they getting their information.
