Petroleum based paraffin candles are by far the most prevalent type around. Because their main ingredient is from a non-renewable source, they aren't exactly eco-friendly and contain carcinogens. Beeswax candles are expensive and not vegan friendly. Enter soy candles.
Soy candles burn longer than paraffin and are made from a renewable resource. Not only that but the soy beans were probably grown domestically if not locally. Soy candles come in just as many colors and scents as paraffin without the green guilt.
