Mooching off people just got easier
One of my favorite things about the green movement is the focus on conservation -- namely, avoiding the accumulation of all that random excess crap that you a) don't need, and b) will eventually be taking up space in a landfill somewhere. It plays right into my cheap-skate nature -- why buy it, when you could just borrow it from a friend (or a neighbor, or a stranger, or whoever)?
Patricia already covered Freecycle -- a popular website that lets you dump your unwanted goods (or find awesome stuff on the cheap), and here's a couple other ways you can get what you need without buying it brand new:
Swaptree is a national site that pairs people up based on what they're trying to get rid of, and what they're looking for. Not only can you get rid of books, music, moves or video games you don't want anymore, and get cool stuff in return! What's not to like?
Neighborrow is similar, in that it allows users to trade, but it has an additional feature that allows you to borrow stuff -- for free! So if your real neighbor is a jerk who won't let you borrow any of his tools, mooch off your community at large with this helpful site.
Given the amount of stuff you already own, these websites may make it possible for you to live the rest of your life without ever buying anything ever again. Awesome!

There's also BarterBee (http://www.barterbee.com/) which is a similar service which I believe uses a "points" system rather than direct swaps. I've posted a link to this great money/environment saving tip at GreenDeals Daily (http://GreenDealsDaily.com)
