The new pee-powered battery
So you're an eco-conscious person, and to try and reduce your waste, you've started using rechargeable batteries. Great! However, you're always running out of juice when you're nowhere near a power socket -- or, more likely, you simply can't remember to charge the batteries in the first place, so they're never ready when you need them. Bummer.
Fortunately for you, a Japanese company has created NoPoPo -- a new batter that should be easier to recharge, because it runs off of liquids like water, soda, or even urine.
It comes in both AA and AAA sizes, and has up to 500 milliamp-hours of life -- which is comparable to your average zinc-carbon AA batteries. So next time you're out of juice, all you need to do is pee!
The only downside is that no one knows when the batteries will be sold outside of Japan. But keep your fingers crossed -- with an idea this awesome, I can't imagine it'll take that long.
