Brad Pitt builds green in New Orleans
If nothing else, Brad Pitt leads a full life. In addition to his pursuits as an actor, husband, and father of four, Pitt is also interested in architecture -- and, more specifically, in green building.
After buying a home in New Orleans back in January, Pitt got to work revitalizing the area, and his most-recent efforts involve teaming up with Global Green USA to build affordable and energy-efficient housing in city's badly-damaged Ninth Ward. Construction has already begun on homes that will include energy-saving appliances, windows, lightbulbs and plumbing -- designs that should decrease energy bills by 75 percent and water bills by 50 percent.
