Al Gore wins an Emmy
Sure, Al Gore's political life didn't exactly end on a high note, but after serving as Vice President of United States, and then narrowly losing a national election for president, I'd say anyone could call it quits, pat themselves on the back, and feel confident that they'd had an incredibly successful career.
But Gore didn't call it quits. Instead he started working as an environmental activist, and has since become an international sensation -- first with his Oscar-winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, and now with Current TV, a youth-oriented TV channel that won an Emmy at Sunday night's awards.
The interactive station reaches about 40 million homes in the US, and, according to Gore, is a way "viewers can help make television and join the conversation of democracy."
Sounds like it's working!
