When it comes to making eco-friendly changes in your life a lot of it comes down to changing how you do things, not necessarily what you're doing. We all have to eat, but where you buy your food can have a big impact on the environment -- either positive or negative. Supermarkets are not the place to get your groceries, and here are 5 reasons why:
- Supermarkets drive local operations and farmers out of business
- Supermarket food doesn't taste as good
- Supermarkets are wasteful
- Supermarkets reduce biodiversity and choice
- Supermarkets contribute to carbon emissions in a big way
You may not agree with all of these statements, but it's worth reading
the complete article and hearing why some are choosing to ban supermarket shopping. Even if you can't avoid the grocery store completely (I can't in my area) getting everything you can from
local food sources is still helpful!
